Yumame can be fried in a pan with added oil, deep-fried with or without breading, cooked in soup, baked in the oven, or grilled.
In the pan
Cut Yumame into the desired shape. Preheat the pan with oil over medium to high heat and add the Yumame pieces. Depending on the desired texture and color, fry for about 2–3 minutes on each side.
In the oven
Cut Yumame into the desired shape and briefly marinate on all sides with oil in an oven dish. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and add the Yumame pieces. Depending on the desired texture and color, bake for about 5–10 minutes.
